Spa & Longevity

Wellness travel is everywhere.

But not every hotel with a spa—or a long menu of spa treatments—can change how you feel.

Healthy Travel is a curated guide to luxury hotels and resorts where wellbeing is built into the experience from the start. Where design, atmosphere, and environment work together—quietly and intentionally—to shape how a place is experienced and remembered.

Each property and destination is selected through an editorial lens, shaped by a career spanning publishing and luxury hospitality. The focus is not on volume, but on discernment—hotels where details, setting, and sense of pace feel aligned.

This is not a comprehensive list of where to go. It is an edit of where it’s worth going.

The Approach

Not every beautiful hotel qualifies.
Not every wellness resort truly delivers.

Each stay is considered through a consistent lens:

Design that supports wellbeing, not just aesthetics
A sense of space, light, and restraint
Connection to landscape and setting
Wellness experiences that feel integrated—not added on
An overall pace that allows you to settle, not just visit

Because the most compelling stays don't rely on programming alone. They're shaped by how a place is conceived from the beginning.

A Note from the Editor

Healthy Travel began with two lifelong passions: travel and wellness.

For years, I found myself drawn to destinations that offered more than beautiful surroundings. They left me feeling healthier, calmer, and better than when I arrived. Long before wellness travel became the category it is today, I wanted to understand why certain places had that effect—and to share those discoveries with others. That curiosity led me to launch Healthy Travel as a print magazine in 2012, one of the first publications devoted to exploring how travel influences our well-being.

My career has included roles in magazine publishing, journalism, and luxury hospitality, including serving as an editor at Southern Living and writing for Travel + Leisure. Along the way, I've visited hotels and resorts around the world. Some introduced me to wellness traditions rooted in the culture and landscape of a place. Others inspired adventure, extraordinary meals, or entirely new ways to experience a destination. The places I remember most are the ones that offered something I couldn't have found anywhere else.

They also share something in common: thoughtful design, genuine hospitality, a strong sense of place, and experiences that encourage us to slow down, reconnect, discover something new, or simply be more present. Long after I've forgotten the details of the room, I remember how those places made me feel.

That's what Healthy Travel exists to celebrate.

Here you'll find luxury resorts, private villas, wellness retreats, unforgettable restaurants, and remarkable destinations—chosen not because they're the newest or the most talked about, but because they offer something meaningful. We ask one simple question: How does this place make you feel?

Healthy Travel is thoughtfully curated rather than comprehensive—a collection of places we believe are genuinely worth experiencing.

Thank you for being here. I hope these stories inspire your next journey and remind you that the greatest luxury isn't simply where you go, but how you feel long after you return home.

Warmly,
